We have an incredible opportunity for a General Manger to be based in Wrexham which has come about due to the present incumbent retiring. This is a successful business who are part of a larger group, as well as joining an ambitious and supportive company, you would be working with interesting products with a huge variety of industries.

This site is a medium sized business with a family feel and strong values, they have a low staff turnover because they look after their employees and as a result have a great workforce. They have a turnover of £8million but they plan to grow this by 12% each year and you would play a large part in this, your role would play a large part in sales and marketing so you will need to have commercial experience within a technical arena.

Backgrounds that might suit this role/company include life sciences, filtration, medical, industrial, etc. They are keen to ring someone on board who has experience of growing a company, you may be working as a Sales / Marketing Manager or an Operations Manager with some sales/marketing experience. Or even a more senior manager who is looking for something more challenging or is looking to work for a smaller company where you have more autonomy and can really make your mark.

You will need to be a strong people manager and enjoy working for a company with a family feel. Your experience of delivering exceptional financial results and motivating your teams will aid you in this role, you will be able to use your skills and commercial knowledge to positively influence and grow the business.

They are looking for someone who can consistently deliver high quality products on time, always adhering to company ISO and the required market standards. Due to them having a big presence in life science applications/markets you will need to have experience in a related/transferable batch manufacturing environment. A degree in chemistry would be best suited but depending on your background they would also consider a degree in alternative science subject or possibly engineering.

The package is circa £60000 / £65000 per annum plus a performance bonus which is paid annually, you will get a generous car allowance (plus insurance which you can add family onto), 5 weeks' holidays, child care vouchers/shopping discounts, flexible working hours, contributory pension scheme plus a great working environment and an interesting product base. You will also benefit from a handover period with the present General Manager. We are looking for someone to start between November 2016 and no later than January 2017.

The role does include some travel to visit existing and potential clients, mostly UK and Europe but could also include Asia and America, this would account for about 30% of your time (although this may decrease further down the line).
