An exciting new opportunity has arisen at the University of Portsmouth for an Employment Lawyer.

This is a new role and you will have a vital part to play in ensuring that the University receives high-quality employment law advice in support of its wide-ranging activities. You will report to the University Solicitor, will work closely with the Deputy Director of Human Resources and will have frequent interaction with the University’s senior staff and human resources team.

We are looking for a talented individual with a good experience of providing employment law advice within a large organisation. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong customer service ethos, the ability to meet tight deadlines, a systematic approach to your work and attention to detail. You will also need to have a collegiate approach to working with others and be a skilled and assertive communicator.

In joining the University of Portsmouth, you will be joining one of only four Universities in the South East of England to be rated Gold in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (2017).
