Executive Assistant (HR & General)

Brighton, East Sussex

£27,000-35,000pa

We're working exclusively with an innovative central Brighton based business on recruiting an Executive Assistant to join their business in a newly created role. Reporting directly to the Managing Director / Founder as part of a small business (10-18 staff dependent on temps), this person will provide much-needed support in a growing entrepreneurial environment.

Out client's modern offices are ideally situated in the centre of town, a short walk from the station. They have a sociable, relaxed office ethos but maintain a high work ethic and commitment to the company's continued success. Everyone works collaboratively to ensure customer satisfaction standards are always maintained and this is an enjoyable place to work.

A well-respected figure in this field, the MD needs to add a new pivotal support layer to assist him with the day to day running of the company. They're growing and entering a busy time of the year so this role is ready to be filled as soon as possible!

Outline of role (subject to expansion):

  • HR management – contracts, holiday and sick-day diaries, payroll
  • Office management: General upkeep of office – ensuring the team share tasks, ordering / maintaining of office supplies etc.
  • Tenancy management: Contact with landlords, contact with other tenants, dealing with queries
  • Executive support at key meetings: Building and circulating agendas, note-taking, sharing (and chasing) meeting actions
  • Focus on following through on discussions at meetings and ensuring plans are actioned effectively
  • Acting as liaison with MD and staff / external parties
  • Assisting the wider team with further duties over time to free-up the MD

You will have solid relevant experience relating to the above and be an adaptable, fast-learner who's able to quickly build rapport and respect with colleagues. You will understand the pressures of running a business and show evidence of helping previous employers through busy periods of change. You will have sound secretarial skills, basic HR/payroll understanding, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a calm, professional manner.
